Mendelow Cooking
A social recipe platform with AI-enhanced food photography.
Recipe apps are functional but visually dead. The photos are either stock photography that looks nothing like your food, or phone photos that make even great cooking look bad. Mendelow Cooking is a social recipe platform where every dish looks as good as it tastes — home cooks share recipes backed by AI-enhanced photography that turns a phone snapshot into an editorial image without changing anything about the actual dish.
The app is built around food-first design — a visual feed, user profiles, grocery lists organized by store, step-by-step cooking mode, and a comment system. It runs on SpoonJoy and is designed in Figma for iOS.
The App
A visual feed built around the food. Recipe pages, profiles, grocery lists by store, cooking mode, and search — all designed in Figma for iOS.
Phone to Editorial
Every recipe photo starts as a phone snapshot. The AI enhancement preserves the original scene — same plate, same table, same composition — and applies editorial lighting and color grading. Nothing is added. Nothing is staged.
